The Fellowship For Alien Detection
The Fellowship for Alien Detection
by Kevin Emerson
Walden Pond Press (February 26, 2013)
This book is about 2 kids who try to save the world from aliens. In the beginning Haley explained in school about missing time in towns where there were abductions. Then she went on a trip to see a fireworks show. On the 4th of July aliens tried to abduct her but a guy named The Alto saved her.
While that happened Dodger was being used as a radio with his powers that he got from when he was abducted by aliens as a kid. Soon he got tired of it and controlled the radio lunch box to hit the kids who were using him as a radio. Then he went to some mines to find a map to the town of Juliete. After that aliens came but he drove them off using his crystal he found in the radio lunch box.
Towards the end Haley and Dodger met. Soon more aliens came and Dodger controlled one of the spaceships with his crystal. They then went to the town of Juliete and saved the world.
I like this book because it has sci-fi action with aliens. I would recommend this book to teens. --J.J.

Jacob Wonderbar and the Interstellar Space Warp
Jacob Wonderbar and The Interstellar Time Warp
by: Nathan Brandsford
illustrated by: C.S. Jennings
Dial (February 7, 2013)
review ARC provided by Cover to Cover
This book is about how Jacob Wonderbar and his friends travel through time to find his dad and to stop the Stangers from destroying the Astrals.
In the beginning Jacob sees his mom and she tells him to find his dad and then him and his friends start to time travel. Then the strangers try to destroy the astrals. In the end he and his friends stop the strangers and find Jacob’s dad.
The characters in this book are: Jacob, Sarah, Dexter, and Mick. These are good characters in this book.
This book is 3rd person. There is no “I” as in thoughts in this book. This book is told by a narrater.
This book has many times and places in this book. That is because of time travel.
I recommend this book to everyone. --Jab

Bot Wars
Bot Wars
by J.V. Kade
Dial, on shelves March 13, 2013
review copy (ARC) provided by Cover to Cover Children's Books
I haven’t finished the book yet but it is awesome so far. It is about a kid named Trout. He has a brother named Po. He lost his leg from a disease named the Deeta Disease during the Robot Wars. His dad went missing a few years back. His dad might be in bot territory. Later, he made friends with a girl named Tellie. The UD (United Distect, they now formed Disticts) Goverment can track people because they have chips.
The part I’m in right now this is what happened: the Goverment was chasing Trout and Trout ended up at Tellie’s house. The Goverment went there and saw a robot at her room. Robots and humans were friends and are now pretty much enemies. The robot is good and helped him escape. I said a lot so to find out what happens next, just read. --U
